Suffield scored late in the first half on an offensive corner and then added another 10 minutes into the second half on a unstoppable high shot. Varsity Volleyball: W 3-1 over Canterbury
Recap: Porter’s enjoyed a quick start but Canterbury responded by stepping up its serving. Both teams battled well, but Porter’s won most of the long rallies. Canterbury responded by changing their serving tactics to high risk/high reward. The more difficult serving took its toll on Porter’s passing, but the team was able to do just enough to win Set 2. Set 3 saw more of the same difficult serving from Canterbury, Porter’s almost held on to win in 3, but Canterbury was able to take the set with back-to-back aces at 24-24 and 25-24. Set 4 started very similarly, but the high risk serves started to catch up to Canterbury. After a few service errors in a row, they were forced to serve more safely, opening up the opportunity for Porter’s to extend its lead and take the match.
