Large Crowd Attends Guilford BOE Meeting Discussing Later Start Times for Schools

The earliest a change could be made to the start times is September.

More than 100 people attended the two-hour long special Board of Education meeting discussing possible plans to have later start times in Guilford schools, Jack Kramer reports for the Guilford Courier.

At the meeting held on Wednesday, parents opinions differed based on the age of their children, the Courier reports.

The change is one of the board’s priorities as they begin budgeting for the 2015-16 school year. The district is considering the change due to the medical and educational benefits that teens would get from getting an extra hour of sleep.
