Hamden Police Charge Teen in Connection with Armed Robbery of 53-Year-Old Man Who Was Shoveling his Stairs
The robbery occurred on Fairview Avenue last week.

Hamden police arrested a town teen in connection with the armed robbery of a 53-year-old man who was shoveling his stairs on Fairview Avenue last week.
Police responded to the Fairview Avenue residence on Feb. 16 and investigation revealed that the man was shoveling his outside stairs when he was approached by an individual who was armed with a handgun, Capt. Ronald Smith said in a press release.
Smith said the gunman demanded the resident’s belongings, while pointing a firearm at him. Several items, including the victim’s wallet, credit cards and money were stolen.

Detective Joseph Liguori conducted an investigation that led to the application of an arrest warrant for Malik Hanna.
Police served the warrant and arrested Hanna, 18, of 148 Gorham Avenue, on Wednesday and transported him to police headquarters.

Hanna was charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny. He is being detained on a court-ordered $250,000 bond.
