North Haven Man Charged with Burglarizing Multiple Storage Units in Hamden
Hamden police discovered a stolen jewelry box inside of a vehicle involved in an accident and developed a suspect in the case.

A motor vehicle accident led Hamden police to develop a suspect in the burglary of multiple storage units in town and resulted in the arrest of a North Haven man.
Mark Bonaminio, 30, of 600 Middletown Avenue in North Haven, was arrested Monday in connection with the burglary of 11 storage units at Hamden Self-Storage, located at 34 Raccio Park Drive, on Oct. 30, 2014, Capt. Ronald Smith said in a press release.
Padlocks were damaged and removed from each of the units and the victims reported various missing items, including jewelry, power equipment and sporting goods, according to Smith.

A day prior to the report of the burglaries, Officer Nicholas D’Angelo responded to a motor vehicle accident on Sherman Lane, involving Bonaminio.
Smith said D’Angelo located a stolen jewelry box inside of the vehicle and further investigation revealed that the jewelry was stolen from one of the storage units.

Detective Joseph Liguori assumed the investigation, which led to the application of an arrest warrant for Bonaminio.
Bonaminio turned himself in at Hamden Police Headquarters on Monday.
Bonaminio was arrested on charges of 11 counts of third-degree burglary, third-degree larceny and first-degree criminal mischief. He is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on May 11.
