Teens Charged With Arson In Hamden: Police
Police say two 14-year-old Hamden residents started a garage fire and fled the scene on their bicycles.

HAMDEN, CT — Two 14-year-old Hamden residents have been charged with arson in connection with a garage fire on Evergreen Avenue Thursday afternoon, according to police. Crews responded to the fire at 385 Evergreen Ave. around 2 p.m. on April 23.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and no injuries were reported. Two juveniles were found to have started the fire, according to Capt. Ronald Smith. (To sign up for Hamden breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
Smith said the teens were seen fleeing the scene on their bicycles. Officer Angela Vey found the juveniles and they were arrested and turned over to the custody of their parents, according to Smith.

The two 14-year-old Hamden residents were each charged with third-degree arson and are set to appear in Juvenile Court in New Haven at a later date.
