American International College, Springfield MA

  • Dana Bramble, of East Hartford, recently participated in the 10th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium at American International College. The Undergraduate Research Symposium provides students from across disciplines with a public space to share their original ideas, discoveries, creations, and research in a supportive and professional academic conference setting. Bramble, a chemistry major, did her research on spectroscopic examination of lead contamination in drinking water.

Assumption College, Worcester MA

  • On Sunday, May 13, Assumption College awarded 617 degrees during its 101st Commencement exercises held at the DCU Center in downtown Worcester, MA, in which speaker The Most Reverend Robert E. Barron, S.T.D., auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and evangelist who uses various forms of media, in particular social media, to share the Gospel message and one of the most-followed Catholics on social media, delivered the Commencement address. Local graduates included Ahlajuwon Spencer of East Hartford and Charles Williams of Hartford.

Curry College, Milton MA

  • Curry College is pleased to announce that a pair of East Hartford residents received degrees on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at Commencement Exercises in Milton, Massachusetts. Briana Dawkins received a Bachelor of Arts degree, and Kevi Oatway received a Bachelor of Science degree.

John Carroll University, University Heights OH

  • Nathaniel Heiden of Bloomfield is the recipient of the Fenton D. Moore Award for Outstanding Biology Graduate from the Department of Biology at John Carroll University for the 2017-18 academic year. This award is given to a student who has shown outstanding academic performance as reflected in grades, research activity, service, and demonstrated enthusiasm for the discipline. Dr. Fenton Moore was a faculty member in the Biology Department from 1972 until his retirement in 2004 and served as department chair and as director of the Health Professions Advisory Committee. He was well-known for his concern for students and for the rigor of his teaching. Heiden is majoring in Biology. The program is part of John Carroll's College of Arts and Sciences.

Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester NH

  • Victoria Gramuglia of East Hartford has been named to Southern New Hampshire University's winter 2018 President's List. Eligibility for the President's List requires that a student accumulate an academic grade point average (GPA) of 3.7-4.0 and earn 12 credits for the semester.
