Madison Election Results 2021: Lyons Reelected First Selectman

Democrat Peggy Lyons beat Republican Bruce Wilson. Wednesday morning, the Secretary of State said a technical issue has delayed results.

MADISON, CT —The polls closed in Madison and shortly after midnight, Patch received the unofficial results that showed Democratic First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons garnered 3,743 votes and Republican challenger Bruce Wilson received 3,023 votes.

Check back for the results of the Board of Selectmen, Board of Education, Board of Finance, Board of Assessment Appeals and Zoning Board of Appeals tallies.

As of 10 a.m., Secretary of State Denise Merrill announced that a technical issues has prevented the agency to display election results.

“The election night reporting system has a technical issue affecting the display of results, but all of the results are tallied and entered into the election night reporting system locally. All of the results that have been entered thus far are safely and securely stored on the system, but are not currently being displayed. The third-party vendor that manages the reporting system is working right now to display the results as soon as possible. If anyone is interested in getting specific results while we work to fix the issue, please email elections@ct.gov and we will get you what you are looking for as soon as we can.”

The choices for Board of Selectman are Democrat Scott Murphy and Democrat Al Goldberg and Republican Noreen Kokoruda and Republican Joe Bunovsky. Vote for up to two


The choices for Board of Finance are Democrat Katie Stein, Democrat Cindy Breckheimer, Republican Jean Fitzgerald, Democrat Jude H. Friedman, and Republican Happy Marino. Vote for up to three.


The choices for Board of Education are Democrats Maureen Hackett Lewis, Emily Rosenthal and Steven Pynn and Republicans Jennifer Gordon, Mary Ann Connelly, and Christine Ann Maisano. Not more than three from one office; vote for up to five.


The Board of Assessment Appeals candidates are Democrat Shirley Taylor and Republican Bill Lewis. Vote for one.


The Zoning Board of Appeals candidates are Democrats Richard Gilbert and Jason Brown and Republican Ernie Lacore. Vote for up to two.

The unchallenged Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate candidate is Democrat Steven Bischoff.
