Police Identify Mom Killed In Middletown Crash, Child Survives
Middletown police have identified the driver in a fatal crash involving a car and tow truck.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A crash involving a car and tow truck in Middletown Monday night claimed the life of a 23-year-old New Britain woman, but her child in the rear of the vehicle survived, police said.
The crash took place at 7:46 p.m. on South Main Street near the Round Hill Road intersection. When they arrived at the scene, officers encountered a 2017 Nissan Altima that hit a flatbed tow truck from behind while traveling north on South Main Street, according to an incident report.
Officers located a 3-year-old child unharmed in the rear of the car and a woman trapped in the driver's seat, according to an incident report.

Police officers and a medical crew removed the woman from the driver's seat, attempted life-saving measures but she succumbed to her injuries and died at the scene, according to an incident report.
The child was transported to Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford for evaluation, police said.

Late Tuesday morning, Middletown police identified the driver as 23-year-old Lindsey Pelletier of New Britain. Police confirmed that the child in the vehicle was Pelletier's son.

The tow truck operator, a 53-year-old Danbury man, was not injured during the collision, according to an incident report.
