Citizens Bank 5K Road Race

NEW! Flatter & faster course!

This unique family oriented festival and road race is sponsored by Citizens Bank, City of Middletown, The Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Business District, YMCA and Oddfellows Playhouse. The festival features Oddfellows street performers, ARTFARM’s Circus for a Fragile Planet, moonwalk, giant slide and more! Live music is provided by Run for Cover.

Raceday Schedule @ Citizens Bank, 225 Main Street:
4:30 p.m. Packet Pickup & Race Day Registration
6:30 p.m. ½ Mile Kid’s Fun Run
6:45 p.m. 5K Start
7:00-8:00 p.m. Post-Race Celebration
7:30 p.m. Awards Ceremony

Kids Fun Run: Kids can join the fun with this half-mile run on Main St. All finishers receive ribbons. Entry fees for Middletown residents in the Kids Race are waived courtesy of the Middletown Federation of Teachers. All children who enter will receive a complimentary single use pass for Kidcity Children’s Museum.
Awards Top three male & female finishers: 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+ and Wheelchair. The first male & female Middletown resident also receive awards. All finishers of the Kids Run receive ribbons.

Tech Tees to the first 500 5K entrants! First 150 participants in the Kids Fun Run receive cotton shirts. All remaining participants receive cotton shirts.

Showers available after the race at the Middlesex County YMCA.
Post-Race Party! All participants are invited to enjoy our post-race snack, live music, street performers and awards ceremony. Most activities begin before 5k start!

There will be several road closures in the downtown area. Main Street will be closed between Dingwall Drive and Court Street from 3:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M.

Approximately 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. the following roads will be closed: Main Street between Dingwall Drive and Union Street, High Street between Church Street and Washington Street, Vine Street, William Street, Knowles Avenue, and Washington Terrace. Cross Street will be closed between Long Lane and Pine Street.
Roadways will be reopened to traffic after participants pass.

Many streets will be barricaded and officers or volunteers will be at fixed posts on the route.
All motorists are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
