Here’s How Middletown Residents Voted In 2018 Primary Election
Here is how Middletown residents voted in Tuesday night's primary elections.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — The battle to succeed Gov. Dannel P. Malloy in November will come down to Democrat Ned Lamont and Republican Bob Stefanowski. Lamont walloped his primary challenger Joseph Ganim by 171,658 to 39,854, while Stefanowski earned 41,957 votes followed by Mark D. Boughton, 30,457, David Stemerman, 26,266, Tim Herbst, 25,091, and Steve Obstinik, 19,119.
For Lieutenant Governor, Democrat Susan Bysiewicz defeated Eva Zimmerman by a margin of 129,484 to 78,870 and on the Republican side Joe Markley defeated Erin Stewart and Jayme Stevenson. Markley earned 65,702 votes, Stewart, 45,258 and Stevenson, 27,138.
Other big winners from across the state last night include: Matthew Corey, who won his GOP primary to run for U.S. Senate against Chris Murphy, and in the 5th District congressional primary former Teacher of the Year Jahana Hayes defeated her challenger Mary Glassman while on the Republican side Manny Santos defeated Ruby Corby-O’Neil and Rich DuPont. Democrats picked William Tong to run for State Attorney General and Republicans picked Sue Hatfield. For Treasurer, Democrats voted for Shawn Wooden and Republican chose Thad Gray.

In Middletown, Lamont received 3,192 votes and Ganim had 625. Bysiewicz garnered 2,344 votes while Zimmerman received 1,466 votes.
On the Republican side in Middletown, Stefanowski received 448 votes, while Herbst had 292 and was followed by Stemerman, 284, Boughton, 170, and Obsitnik, 162. While Markley won the overall race for lieutenant governor, Erin Stewart won in Middletown with 573 votes to Markley’s 524 while Stevenson finished with 223.
In the 9th Senatorial District, Democratic challenger Matt Lesser defeated Antonio "Tony" Guerrera by a vote of 1,822 to 600. Republicans in the 9th Senatorial District picked Ed Charamut over challenger Tyler Flanigan, 373 to 330.
In the 13th Senatorial District, endorsed Democratic candidate Mary Daugherty Abrams won the overall race and in Middletown as well, receiving 972 votes while challenger Alex Tiktinsky had 376.
In the 100th Assembly District, Republican challenger Anthony Gennaro defeated endorsed candidate Tyrell Brown, 449 to 247, for state representative.
