While Samuel Clemens, a.k.a. Mark Twain, is laid to rest in Elmira, New York, many of his Hartford companions and cohorts are interred at Cedar Hill. Learn about Twain's life and his many Nook Farm friends, neighbors and colleagues during this walking tour led by popular author and historian Steve Courtney.

Stories in Stone Thursday, July 12, 6:30 pm. Admission: $5.00; Members Free
Learn about monument styles often found in 19th-century cemeteries such as Cedar Hill. From the sarcophagus to the obelisk, Celtic cross, pyramid and more, Foundation Director Beverly Lucas will discuss the artistic and architectural design of the cemetery’s illustrious memorials.

Mary Falvey leads this tour focused on men who served the U. S. government, many at the request of the sitting president.

Angels Among Us Tuesday, July 24, 10:00 am. Admission: $5.00; Members Free
Learn about the angels and allegorical figures that grace the landscape of Cedar Hill. From the angel Gabriel to representations of Faith, Hope and Memory, Beverly Lucas will acquaint you with the figural monuments in the historic cemetery.

Music Among the Memorials Friday, July 27, 6:00 pm. Free for All! Enjoy an evening of new American roots music at Cedar Hill with Last Fair Deal. The popular Connecticut trio featuring guitarist Paul Howard, fiddler Tom Hagymasi, and banjo/mandolinist Phil Zimmerman will perform an eclectic selection of old-time string band, bluegrass, swing, and popular music. Bring blankets, chairs and picnic dinners for a night to remember. (Rain Date: Saturday, July 28, 6:00 pm)
