Man Threatens to Bleed on Middletown Police Officers: Police
The Middletown resident allegedly told police he had AIDs and would bleed on them if touched.

Middletown Police Officer Edwin Ortiz observed a man running in and out of vehicle traffic on Main Street, in the vicinity of Court Street, allegedly attempting to solicit money from passing drivers.
The man was Daniel John Ventre, 31, of 9 Summerhill Rd., Middletown. Ortiz said he did not have identification on him but was positively identified from a photograph taken during a past arrest.
Ventre allegedly showed violent tendencies toward police as he was being transported to police lock-up.

“Ventre refused to allow us to search him a second time and stated that if we [police] touched him, that he would bite and spit at us,” Ortiz said in the police report. “Ventre yelled and clenched his fist and also stated that he has AIDs and Hepatitis C and that if we touched him, he would make sure to bleed on us.”
Police said he removed all his clothing before being placed in a padded cell due to his allegedly violent behavior.

Ventre was arrested on the following charges:
- Failure to comply with fingerprinting request
- Failure to appear in the second degree due to an outstanding warrant
In 2011, Ventre was arrested on failure to appear charges and violation of probation. He was arrested in 2012 on assault and unlawful restraint charges. His ex-girlfriend said Ventre was smoking and snorting bath salts and he acts out of control and she was afraid of him.
In 2013, he was arrested on a criminal trespassing charge.
