Many Middletown Residents

Attended Hartford's City Hall Meeting

On Monday November 20th the Hartford City Council Had A Public Hearing On The Proposed Pregnancy Information Disclosure and Protection Ordinance proposed by Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin. The Ordinance is championed by: Hartford GYN Center, NARAL Pro-Choice CT, Planned Parenthood Southern New England among other abortion rights organizations.

There were about 300 pro-lifers including supporters for Middletown Abc Women's Center and about 50 pro-abortion activists at Hartford City Hall from around the state, who came to weigh in on the proposed ordinance. An overflow room was opened for non-city residents but it was standing room only in the council room:
Leticia Velasquez, The Hartford Women’s Center director, said that medically, they offer ultrasounds and pregnancy tests, administered by two licensed nurses and one doctor. They say they offer everything but abortions, and that ranges from from housing and healthcare to employment and child care. “We would welcome the council to come and visit the clinic to see what we do,” she said. The council has made no attempts to visit or learn more about the center, she said, which “is upsetting, because it seems they’ve picked only one side.”

Here Are Samples Of The Public's Opinions:
In the meantime, an ordinance has also been referred to the Health and Human Services Committee, so they'll be looking at this as well.
