Mayor Drew Proposes Single-Use Plastic Bag Ban
Several towns in Connecticut are considering similar proposals.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown Mayor Dan Drew will propose a ban on single-use plastic bags.
The proposed ordinance will be brought up to the Common Council next month, according to the Middletown Press. Drew, legal staff and environmental groups worked together to look at similar municipal ordinances that are already in effect throughout Connecticut.
The ban if passed wouldn't go into effect until 2020 in order to give people time to adjust.
