Middletown Awarded High Bond Rating

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown was awarded a AAA bond rating from Standard & Poors for the fourth year in a row.

The city worked its way up to the AAA bond rating starting seven years ago when it went from AA to AA+ and finally to the highest possible AAA.

S&P said in its report that the city's market value grew by 3.7 percent over the past year with property values still rising. It also cited strong management and strong budgetary performance.
