Middletown Municipal Election 2017 Results: UPDATE
Residents voted on several local positions in Tuesday's municipal election. See the results here.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — The referendum question on building a new $87.35 million middle school was overwhelmingly approved by residents in Tuesday’s municipal election, which saw a low voter turnout, according to the Middletown Press. The referendum question passed by a vote of 3,283 to 1,693.
In addition to the ballot question, residents voted on candidates for Board of Education and Planning and Zoning Commission.
Results for the Board of Education, via the Secretary of State’s office, are as follows: Lisa Loomis (D) 3,227, Sean T. King (D) 3,038, Patricia Alston (D) 2,975, Vincent J. Loffredo (D) 2,964, Ed Ford Jr. (R) 2,154, Jonathan Pulino (R) 1,942, and Christopher J. Sugar (R) 1,859.

In the Planning and Zoning races, Stephen H. Devoto (D) received the most votes at 3,153 and was followed by: Amy Albert (D) 2,956, Steven M. Kovach (D) 2,804, Nicholas Ficaro (D) 2,661, Nick Fazzino (R) 2,163, Corrine Dorsey (R) 2,017, Tyrell J. Brown (R) 1,832 and Anthony R. J. Moran (R) 1,663.
The results will be determined Wednesday based on minority representation on the panels, according to the Middletown Press.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — On Nov. 7, Middletown residents will hit the polls and vote for several board of education and planning and zoning commission positions, along with a ballot question. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Here is a breakdown of what you need to know.
Board of Education (Vote for any four)
- Sean T. King, Vincent J. Loffredo, Lisa Loomis, Patricia Alston (D)
- Christopher J. Sugar, Ed Ford Jr., Kevin M. Kelly, Jonathan Pulino (R)
Planning and Zoning Commission (Vote for any three)
- Steven M. Kovach, Stephen H. Devoto, Nicholas Ficaro (D)
- Nick Fazzino, Anthony R.J. Moran, Corrine Dorsey
Planning and Zoning Commission Alternate (Vote for one)
- Amy Albert (D)
- Tyrell J. Brown (R)
Residents will be asked to vote Yes or No on the following question:
“Shall the $87,350,000 appropriation and bond authorization for the planning, design, construction, renovation, furnishing and equipping of a new Middle School to be located at the current Woodrow Wilson Middle School site on Hunting Hill Avenue, including a minimum State reimbursement rate of 56.43% for the project, pursuant to the ordinance adopted by the Common Council on July 3, 2017, be approved?”

Am I Registered?
If you do not know if you are registered to vote, you can click here. Applications must be postmarked or received by a voter registration agency by the 7th day before an election, which is Oct. 31. However, if you miss the deadline for registering for an election, Connecticut now offers same-day voter registration. You can register and vote in person on Election Day at your town's Election Day Registration location. You can contact your local registrars of voters for information.

Absentee Ballots
You can vote by absentee due to the following reasons:
- Illness or physical disability
- Absence from town during all election hours
- Religious beliefs forbidding secular activity on election day
- Serving as an election official at a polling place other than your own
- Active service in the Armed Forces
