Middletown Nursing Home Fined: Report

The state Department of Public Health recently fined five nursing homes in the state for various violations.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Apple Rehab in Middletown was among five nursing homes in the state to be fined by the state Department of Public Health for violations that jeopardized residents’ safety, according to the according to the Connecticut Health I-Team.

Cara Rosner of the Connecticut Health I-Team reports Apple Rehab Middletown was fined $3,880 in connection to three incidents, including one in which a resident with heart disease failed to receive nine medications on Jan. 25 and their physician was not made aware of it. Other incidents included a resident with a leg fracture not receiving the proper medication for several days and issues related to the hospitalization of a resident with Huntington’s disease, according to Rosner.
