
Schedule of a Public Hearing on legislation impacting the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) related to DVA funding and Municipal Veterans Representatives. The Veterans Affairs Committee will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, March 6th at 3:00PM in Room 1C of the Legislative Office Building (LOB) on several Veteran bills including:
- Raised Bill 287 – An Act Expanding Eligibility for Certain Veterans Benefits
- Raised Bill 289 - An Act Concerning Funding of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- Raised Bill 5317 – An Act Concerning Municipal Veterans’ Representatives.
Sign-up for the hearing will begin 2:00PM in First Floor Atrium of the LOB. Please submit 25 copies of written testimony to Committee staff 2:00PM in First Floor Atrium of the LOB. Testimony received after the designated time may not be distributed until after the hearing. Please email written testimony in Word or PDF format to VAtestimony@cga.ct.gov. The first hour of the hearing is reserved for Legislators, Constitutional Officers, State Agency Heads and Chief Elected Municipal Officials. Speakers will be limited to 3 minutes of testimony. The Committee encourages witnesses to submit a written statement and to condense oral testimony to a summary of that statement.
