Republican Primary In Middletown's 100th District Focuses On State Finances.

Two Middletown Republicans competing to run for the 100th House District in November’s general election say they are seeking to address the financial problems in Connecticut that have burdened taxpayers.

The Republican Town Committee endorsed Tyrell Brown in May, but challenger Anthony Gennaro collected enough signatures to force a primary.

Both candidates are against tolls, but say they bring a perspective all their own to working on issues like taxes, spending and education.

Brown, 20, is a student at Southern Connecticut State University and is a member of the Middletown Planning and Zoning Commission. He is also a financial planning consultant, and said his understanding of finance would make him a valuable asset in the next legislative session.
