The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it. *
The most pressing issue is the building of a new Police Station. As a Police Commissioner I see how outdated the current Police Station is with inadequate locker rooms, booking area, cells, forensic labs, drone dept and lack of space for further expansion. This would bring the Milford Police Dept. into the 21st century. I will gather support from both parties and have this item put in the 2020 City budget.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post? *
I was born and raised in Milford, having served as an alderman in two different districts. I have also been involved in numerous city organizations and charities outside the political field and it has given me an outlook that my opponents don't have and a clear understanding of the wants and needs of the citizens of Milford.
List other issues that define your campaign platform:
Underfunded City pension fund and City work being done without consult of commissions/committees. Also, many city departments are understaffed which affects city services and programs.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Was previously an Alderman in the 4th and 5th districts; Chairman Public Safety Committee; served on the board of Assessment and Review; Aldermanic liaison to the Council on Aging, Milford Government Access TV Commission, Veterans Ceremony and Parade Commission, Milford Arts Council and the Park Beach and Rec Commission.
The best advice ever shared with me was ...
Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I love Milford and its people. I don't vote down straight party lines because I vote for what’s best for Milford. I care more about the people of Milford than the politics of Milford. I am a US Navy veteran.
