Milford Police Detective Arrested: Report

The officer had received a commendation for his police work back in 2018.

GREENWICH, CT — A Milford police detective, Brien McMahon Jr., is charged with disorderly conduct after being charged in Greenwich after an incident that occurred at The Delamar on Greenwich Harbor last weekend, reports the New Haven Register.

According to the police report, which the New Haven Register cites, McMahon was asked to leave after acting in an "unruly manner by swearing at the staff and other patrons.” No other details were released by police.

According to online court records, the incident occurred on Feb. 15 and McMahon was released on a promise to appear in Superior Court, Stamford on Feb. 27.

In 2018, McMahon earned a Certificate of Commendation after a routine traffic stop led to a big drug bust including 90 grams of heroin. Additionally, two guns were found inside the car and a child was present too, police said at the time. Det. Dennis Broderick, Det. Kevin Hilliard, Det. Brien McMahon all earned a Certificate of Commendation.

This is the third incident involving a Milford Police officer over the past year.
