Neighborhoods of Milford

The Walnut Beach community is located in the Village of Devon near the intersection of Naugatuck Avenue and Broadway.

The community is home to repurposed buildings including the Firehouse Art Gallery, which is housed in the former Walnut Beach Fire Company building; and the Walnut Beach Creamery, the location of the former Walnut Beach Post Office.

Restaurants such as the Lazy Lobster tie in the beach theme with their thatched umbrella and buoy decor. The strip is within walking distance to the beach which has a pier and a boardwalk that connects Walnut Beach to Silver Sands State Park.

Milford resident Dan Bergeron, who was at the beach throwing around a football, remarked, "It's a good family environment. It's clean. That's a plus."

Walnut Beach hosts a variety of seasonal events including the annual Walnut Beach Arts and Crafts Festival, Ice Cream 5k Run, sandcastle contest and summer concert series.
