MILFORD INDEPENDENT PARTY ENDORSES REP. KIM ROSE

MILFORD - Representative Kim Rose has received the endorsement of the Milford Independent Party after a recent caucus held at the home of Chairman Rocco Frank. Unaffiliated and independent-leaning voters support Rep. Rose because of her ability to work in a bipartisan manner on their behalf. Rep. Rose will appear on the Milford Independent Party ballot line, as well as on the line of the Working Families Party, on November 8.

"I am pleased that the Milford Independent Party and its members recognizes my work in Hartford and my commitment to work and vote with both sides of the aisle on the issues that matter most to Milford’s families,” said Rep. Kim Rose. “For me, Milford always comes before partisan politics, and it always will. I look forward to continuing to work with people of all political parties in order to serve my neighbors in Milford.”

Rep. Rose has taken the lead in a number of critical issues for Milford. Rep. Rose brought the Co-Chair of the Legislative Housing Committee to survey Milford's housing stock in order to craft an amendment to the state's Affordable Housing statutes. Rep. Rose crafted language and was able to pass a bill through the House of Representatives last session, though it was not called in the Senate. Rep. Rose lead the opposition to the 990 Naugatuck Avenue recycling facility and sponsored legislation to save trees targeted by utility companies in historic districts and elsewhere in Milford. Rep Rose also stands with her neighbors in opposing the development of Silver Sands Park and has requested a study of the Route 1 corridor through Devon to improve pedestrian safety.

Prior to serving in the General Assembly, Kim Rose was a community activist, served as Vice Chair of the Milford Planning and Zoning Board, and co-founded the Downtown Milford Business Association. Kim Rose serves as the Assistant Majority Whip, the Vice-Chair of the Housing Committee, and is a member of the Veterans Affairs Committee and the Children Committee. Rep. Rose is the Democratic Party, Independent Party, and Working Families Party nominee for the State House in Milford’s 118th District.
