MILFORD, CT — Two Stratford teens accused of setting the fire that destroyed the Shakespeare Theater earlier this year have been charged in connection to three other fires in Milford and West Haven, according to the Connecticut Post.

The Post reports Christopher Sakowicz and Vincent Keller, both 18, were arrested Monday in connection to two arson fires in West Haven in February — one at a vacant home on Richards Place and the other at the former Bilco Door Company — and last month’s fire that damaged construction trailers at Silver Sands State Park in Milford.

The teens were arrested by Environmental Conservation Police on Monday in connection with the vandalism and fire that occurred at the construction trailers on March 24 but have not been charged with the fire that destroyed three buildings under construction at Silver Sands on March 19. The investigation leading to the arrests was conducted with the assistance of the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney, Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit, Milford Police, and Stratford Police, according to authorities.

At approximately 7:20 a.m. on March 24, the Milford Fire Department and EnCon Police responded to a report of a fire in two metal storage containers at the park. The Milford Fire Department quickly extinguished the fires and investigators found evidence of vandalism at the scene, officials.

“An earlier fire that destroyed three buildings under construction at the park on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, remains under investigation, and at this time there is no information concerning a connection between the two incidents,” officials said in a news release.
