Mawhinney Late For Court Date In Dulos Case, Must Keep GPS: Report
Kent Mawhinney, one of the suspects in the disappearance and presumed death of Jennifer Dulos, was scheduled to be in court this week.

STAMFORD, CT — Kent Mawhinney, one of the two remaining suspects in the disappearance and presumed death of Jennifer Farber Dulos, was late for a court date this week, and must continue to wear a GPS monitoring device on his ankle, the Stamford Advocate reported.
Mawhinney, a former attorney, was in Stamford Superior Court on Tuesday during jury selection in the case for the other suspect, Michelle Troconis, when his court appearance was scheduled.
The Advocate reported that Mawhinney's case was called twice by Judge Gary White, but Mawhinney and his attorney, Jeffrey Kestenband, did not show up until after White closed the proceedings. Though Mawhinney was in the building, he was not inside the courtroom where Troconis' jury selection is occurring.

Mawhinney is a former friend of Fotis Dulos, Jennifer Dulos' late estranged husband, who was charged with kidnapping and murdering her. Jennifer Dulos, a mother of five, vanished from her New Canaan home on May 24, 2019, and her body has not been found.
Fotis Dulos died after a suicide attempt in January 2020 before he could stand trial. He and Jennifer were in the midst of a contentious divorce and custody fight at the time of her disappearance.

Both Mawhinney and Troconis, who is Fotis Dulos' former girlfriend, have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, accused of helping Fotis in the plot.
Troconis is scheduled to stand trial in the beginning of 2024, after a jury has been selected. A trial date has not yet been set for Mawhinney, and he must request a new court date to have the GPS device removed, which was the scheduled subject of the Tuesday hearing he missed.
Last year, Mawhinney was accused of tampering with the GPS device, and was briefly returned to prison before posting bond for his release.
Prosecutors expect him to testify against Troconis.
