New Haven Man Sentenced In Sexual Assault Of Victim In Wallingford

The man was found guilty of five charges in connection with the sexual assault of a victim in Wallingford, according to officials.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A New Haven man has been sentenced to serve nine years in prison in connection with the sexual assault of a victim in Wallingford in 2023, according to officials.

Mark Lincoln, 27, was sentenced March 26 in New Haven Superior Court to 20 years in prison, suspended after nine years served, and 10 years of probation, New Haven State’s Attorney John P. Doyle Jr. announced.

Lincoln was found guilty by a jury in New Haven Superior Court on Jan. 9 of five criminal offenses, including first-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor, first-degree unlawful restraint, third-degree assault, and second-degree threatening.

Evidence at the trial showed the defendant sexually and physically abused the adult victim in Wallingford over several hours in January 2023 in the presence of a child, according to a news release from the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice.

The victim reported the incident to the Wallingford Police Department, and an arrest warrant was secured for Lincoln, according to Doyle.

Doyle said the cases were joined for a consolidated trial before a jury in New Haven Superior Court.

The cases were investigated by the Wallingford Police Department and prosecuted by Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Melissa R. Holmes and Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney Elisabeth J. Luczek, with assistance from Inspector Michael Mastropetre and Victim Advocate Christie Ciancola.

Doyle thanked the Wallingford Police Department for their investigative efforts.
