Man Charged with Stealing 95-Year-Old North Haven Woman's Identity
The man is also accused of racking up more than $20,000 in credit card charges in her name.

A New Haven man has been charged with the identity theft of a 95-year-old North Haven woman and racking up more than $20,000 in credit card charges.
North Haven Police arrested Thomas Anastasio, 68, on a warrant on Jan. 31 and charged him with first-degree larceny and first-degree identity theft.
Police said that in 2014 a collection company contacted the victim informing her that a credit card account in her name was delinquent. North Haven investigators determined Anastasio had opened nine credit accounts in the victim’s name.

At the time of the investigation, the total balance owed on all of the accounts totaled more than $20,000, according to police.
Anastasio is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Feb. 19.
