West Hartford Police: Man Ditches Girlfriend's Daughters, Ages 12 and 7, on Side of the Road to go Buy Marijuana

The girlfriend was on a job interview at the time and the man was tired of waiting for her, according to police.

A Broadbrook man is accused of leaving his girlfriend’s daughters, ages 12 and 7, on the side of the road in 30-degree weather so he could go buy marijuana while the girlfriend was finishing a job interview, according to West Hartford Police.

Police said that Kirk David Wilson, 35, was waiting for his girlfriend to finish a job interview at 29 South Main Street and became impatient because she was taking too long and he wanted to buy marijuana.

Wilson was in the girlfriend’s car with her two children and had them exit the vehicle and left them without a phone, because he took it with him even though it wasn’t his, according to police.

Wilson then drove the car to Holcomb Street in Hartford to buy marijuana. Police said Wilson had 1 cent with him when he was arrested and it was determined he was going to trade the phone for the marijuana.

Wilson, of Mill Pond Road in Broadbrook, was arrested Jan. 30 on two counts of risk of injury to a minor, third-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny, and operating a motor vehicle with registration/license suspended/revoked.
