The Friends of the Norwalk Islands is holding a Cook-Out Paddle on August 11. Join the group for a guided kayak trip out to the Norwalk Islands and a cook-out. Kayakers will launch at 10 a.m. from The Small Boat Shop dock, 144 Water St, and will return at 4 p.m. Water safety and basic paddling techniques will be discussed before the tour begins.The group is also planning a Sunset/Moorise Paddle on Sept. 1 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Kayak out to the Norwalk Islands while the sun is setting and the moon is rising. The event fee for each trip is $105 and includes a kayak, paddles, life jacket. For each paddler, $25 will be donated to the Friends of the Norwalk Islands.
