CT Daughter Stole Thousands From Dad' Business, Cops Say: Report

She is accused of stealing $600,000 from a Norwich business, allegedly using some of the money to pay gambling debts, according to police.

NORWICH, CT — A 49-year-old Oakdale woman was arrested by Norwich police Friday in connection with allegedly stealing $600,000 from her father's towing and auto repair business to feed her gambling habit and pay her bills, writes NBC Connecticut.

Danielle Kolashuk, of Route 163, surrendered to police on a warrant and was charged with first-degree larceny and third-degree forgery. She was the company's office manager during the period from 2012 to 2016 when the embezzlement is alleged to have occurred.

Police began their investigation in March 2017 when Kolashuk allegedly tried to deposit a forged check from one of her father's accounts to her personal account, reports the Norwich Bulletin.

Kolashuk was held in lieu of $50,000 bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Norwich Superior Court on Friday.
