10 Connecticut Communities To Avoid In 2017: Study
Infotainment website RoadSnacks crunched the data and came up with a list of the state's worst cities to live in.

Looking for a place to live? Connecticut has lots of great options, whether you like the shore, the hills or something in between.
But if you can, avoid these 10 cities because they are Connecticut's worst, according to a new study by infotainment website RoadSnacks.
"Connecticut is the central hub for New England. A semi-wealthy enclave where the rich 'Summer' and everyone else does whatever Connecticut people do," writes author Nick James. "It's a pretty nifty state. But is it all roses there? Definitely not."

The site looked at the states 24 cities and ranked them from the worst (No. 1) to the best (No. 24).
Using data from the United State Census Bureau's American Community Survey and the FBI's Uniform Crime Report, RoadSnacks looked at topics like education, job market, safety, incomes, real estate values and other things people typically look for in a place where they would consider living. And the winner (I mean, loser) is... Hartford. "The bad news is Hartford ranks almost the highest in the state of Connecticut for crime and unemployment rate, and residents earn a paltry income each year," writes RoadSnacks.
As for the rest of the top (I mean, bottom) 10, Waterbury is second; Bridgeport, third; New Haven, fourth; and New Britain, fifth.
The rest of the 10 worst Connecticut cities are:
- New London
- Derby
- Danielson
- Meriden
- Norwich
But as I mentioned earlier, Connecticut has 24 cities. To see where the state's remaining cities rank, click here. I'll give you two hints for Connecticut's best city; it is adjacent to one of the 10 worst, and its mayor is running for governor.
