Report: "No Wrongdoing or Misconduct" in Baldwin's Performance

The resignation agreement between Baldwin and the BOE makes no mention of her alleged plagiarism.

RIDGEFIELD, CT — The Ridgefield Board of Education did not request the resignation of Superintendent Dr. Karen Baldwin, nor did it find any evidence of wrongdoing or misconduct in her performance. This is according to the the terms of a resignation agreement signed last week, obtained by The Ridgefield Press via a Freedom of Information Act request.

Baldwin was initially placed on administrative leave after she was accused of plagiarism, when portions of a letter she sent to the school community after the Parkland, Fla. shooting turned out to be wording from a letter sent by West Hartford's superintendent. She tendered a letter of resignation earlier this month.

Director of Technology and Operations Robert Miller has been serving as acting superintendent and will continue to do so until June 30, when Baldwin's resignation agreement becomes effective. The board has formed a personnel search committee to begin the process to secure a new superintendent.
