Golf Tournament Raises About $10,000 For Football Team
Proceeds will help pay for equipment and scholarships.

The sixth annual Rocky Hill Football Golf Tournament held on July 11 raised about $10,000 with all of the proceeds going to support the high school football team.
The tournament is sponsored by the football boosters foundation and is the major fundraiser for the team, according to the press release.
"The golf tournament was a huge success," William MacDonald, one of the event's organizers, said. About 97 golfers attended the event, MacDonald said.

The money raised will cover scholarships for football players, equipment and helps off set cost of the annual football banquet. Last year's banquet was attended by about 250 people and was held at the Aqua Turf in Southington. Each senior gets their jersey framed at the banquet.
The event is often attended by returning players.
