Evading Man Eventually Arrested At Home: South Windsor Police

South Windsor Police say the man was allegedly speeding on his motorcycle and struck a car while refusing to stop for the officer.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT – A South Windsor man was arrested at his home Sunday after police say he was allegedly speeding on his motorcycle and struck a car while evading an officer earlier in the day.

A South Windsor police officer, who was conducting speed enforcement on Foster Street Ext., reported a motorcycle went by at 60 mph and failed to stop for the officer’s lights/siren at about 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, according to Deputy Chief Scott Custer.

Custer said the motorcyclist struck a car, but continued to evade the officer who terminated the pursuit.

Officers later identified and arrested the motorcycle operator at his home.

Officers arrested Stephen Zrinchak, 20, of 400 Abbe Road, South Windsor. He was charged with disobeying the signal of an officer, evading responsibility, reckless driving, failure to display plate, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, no insurance, interfering with an officer and operating a motor vehicle while license is suspended.

Zrinchak was later released on a $20,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on March 31.
