Dog Left In Hot Car In Stamford Ends With Animal Cruelty Arrest

STAMFORD, CT — A 73-year-old Greenwich man was arrested in Stamford Sunday on a charge of animal cruelty after he left his dog in a hot, black SUV while he ate dinner at the Capital Grille, reports the Stamford Advocate.

Michel Guite's dog spent more than 90 minutes in the vehicle before he returned to find Stamford firefighters and police waiting for him.

The vehicle was parked in the lot at the Stamford Town Center, on what was a humid day. The windows were rolled up, there was no water and the engine was not running to provide air conditioning.

Last week, a Wilton woman received a similar charge in Greenwich when she also left her dog in a hot car without air conditioning. The windows had been left slightly open.
