Settlement Reached in Fatal Stamford Christmas Fire
An architect and contractor agreed to a combined seven-figure settlement.

STAMFORD, CT—An electrical contractor and architectwho worked on the home that became the site of the fatal 2011 Christmas fire agreed to pay $1.2 million in a civil suit.
The home belonged to Madonna Badger and the fire claimed the lives of her three children and two parents. Badger and boyfriend Michael Borcina escaped the blaze. Borcina was the general contractor for renovations.
New Canaan Design Partners and Best Electrical agreed to the settlement, according to the Hartford Courant. The lawsuit was filed by the children's father.
