Cause of Children’s Sudden Sickness from Stonington RV Park Pool Determined

The cause of an incident where six children became ill after swimming in an RV park pool has been found.

STONINGTON, CT – A burst of chemicals has been discovered as the cause of six children becoming dangerously ill at an RV park pool in July, NBC Connecticut reported.

A faulty valve led to a burst of excess chemicals in the Seaport RV Resort and Campground pool, according to NBC Connecticut. The pool company said the chemicals were trapped in a pipe and pushed into the pool when the pump system turned on.

Six children were transported from the resort to the hospital after becoming ill. Their symptoms included vomiting, severe abdominal pain and difficulty breathing.
