Murder Case Against Henderson Still 'Under Investigation'
Cartlon Henderson was due in court Dec. 23, but his arraignment is now Jan. 20, 2020. The state attorney's office is still 'investigating.'

STONINGTON, CT — Carlton T. Henderson Jr., 44, was due in court Monday, Dec. 23. But the State's Attorney's office told Patch Tuesday that the case is continued until the end of January, 2020. It has been anticipated that the charge against Henderson would be changed from attempted murder to murder given the tragic death of 41-year-old Brandia Irvin. The prosecutor's office said early on Christmas Eve that the case is "still under investigation." When asked if the charges will be amended a person from the office said that decision will be known at his arraignment or before.
Stonington Police Capt. Todd Olson confirmed the case is still being investigated.
On the morning of Nov. 30, Irvin was stabbed, the arrest warrant shows, by her longtime boyfriend Henderson. He was on the run for days as she fought for her life. She died Dec. 6, the same day he was in court to face an attempted murder charge. Henderson is being held in lieu of $1.5 million bail.
