Man Pleads Guilty In Connection With Home Invasion In Stratford

A woman was injured after being shot during an apparent home invasion, police said at the time.

STRATFORD, CT — A man faces 85 months in prison when he is sentenced in July after pleading guilty to reduced charges in connection with an apparent home invasion and shooting in Stratford in 2020, according to the Connecticut Post.

The Post reports Troy Lopes, 42, of Stratford, will also be sentenced to five years of probation following the prison term after pleading guilty to first-degree burglary and criminal possession of body armor in a plea bargain.

Lopes, who was arrested in October 2020, had been originally charged with home invasion, first-degree burglary, interfering with an officer and criminal possession of body armor. Calvin Williams was also arrested in connection with the shooting.

The charges against Lopes and Williams are related to an incident the evening of Sept. 3, 2020 at an address on Birch Drive, where law enforcement found a female gunshot victim, police said at the time. The victim was taken to a hospital and stabilized.

Williams is awaiting trial, according to the Post.
