WEATHER UPDATE: Heavy Rain, Fog, and Wind Forecast for Wallingford Today

After Monday's rain, the weather improves for the rest of the week but it will feel chilly.

After a glorious weekend of weather, which brought bright sunshine both days and 70 degrees on Saturday, it’s back to reality today.

We’ll be dealing with heavy rain and fog for most of Monday and Monday night. Also wind gusts can reach as high as 28 mph on Monday.

We can receive up to three-quarters of an inch of rain during the day today. Also, the temperatures will be hovering in the high 40s to low 50s — another big change from this past weekend.

Rain will continue Monday night and up to another half inch of rain is possible before it ends early Tuesday. The temps rebound on Tuesday as cloudy skies turn partly sunny in the afternoon and we could hit 70 degrees again.

More rain showers are possible Wednesday, followed by sunny skies Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Each day the temps are forecast to be in the low to mid-50s.

Today: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Patchy fog after noon. High near 54. Southeast wind 10 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tonight: Showers likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 11pm. Areas of fog. Low around 51. Southeast wind 11 to 16 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tuesday: A slight chance of showers before 10am. Partly sunny, with a high near 68. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 43. West wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Wednesday: A chance of showers after noon. Increasing clouds, with a high near 63. Southwest wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Thursday: A chance of showers before noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 57. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 35.
