Local leaders emphasize moving cars to higher ground, securing loose items, clearing drains when safe and signing up for Westport emergency alerts so neighbors can stay informed and help one another.

Pennsylvania Woman Accused Of Stealing Wallet At Westport HomeGoods Store: Police (patch.com) — Westport police have charged a Philadelphia woman in connection with a 2023 wallet theft at the Post Road East HomeGoods, where a shopper's credit card was quickly used for unauthorized purchases nearby. The suspect turned herself in at Westport Police Headquarters last week, was released on bond, and is due in Stamford Superior Court on September 30.
   

3. Fairfield woman arrested after crash injures two (westportjournal.com) — Westport police say a Fairfield woman was arrested after allegedly driving under the influence and turning left from Ferry Lane onto Saugatuck Avenue, striking another vehicle and injuring two people. The victims' injuries were not believed life‑threatening, but both cars were heavily damaged and towed to Westport Center Services. The driver faces DUI and failure‑to‑yield charges and a court date in Stamford.
   

4.
