The Power of Friendship Dinner and Silent Auction

Circle of Friends' Evening of Recognition dinner and silent auction to honor volunteers. June 5th, 5:30, Fairfield Theater Company

Circle of Friends of Fairfield County will host an Evening of Recognition fundraising dinner honoring its more than 156 teen volunteers who share friendship with children with special needs. The gala will take place Sunday, June at 5:30 PM at the Fairfield Theater Company Fairfield, CT

In addition, Circle of Friends will present eleven high school seniors from Westport Staples, Weston High and Wilton High School with Fellowship Awards for their combined 3,000 “friendship hours”.

The dinner will feature a new video presentation called “The Power of Friendship” especially produced for the evening. The dinner will also feature a Chinese auction and dinner journal to raise much-needed funds for the organization

Westport residents Ellen Lautenberg & Doug Hendel are chairing the dinner committee and local and state Dignitaries will be presenting the volunteers with their awards. Volunteer Alumni, Quincy Stein of Westport will be presented with the Young Leadership Award for her work on behalf of individuals with disabilities on her college campus.

Circle of Friends is nonsectarian and is an all-volunteer organization that reaches out to children, teens and adults with special needs and involves them in a full array of inclusive social programs, and weekly plays dates.

Concluding its 12th year the teen volunteers and their adult supervisors are currently involved with over 120 families in the area.
