Police Charge 2 Wilton Teens With Forgery, Conspiracy
It was the second arrest for one of the teens in less than three months.

WILTON, CT — Police charged two teens with multiple counts of forgery and conspiracy in a drivers license scheme.
Willem Jeffrey Vanpelt, 19, of Crowne Pond Lane, was arrested on a warrant following an investigation by the Detective and Youth Divisions of the Wilton Police Department.
The investigation involved the ordering of forged Connecticut drivers licenses from overseas for more than 12 people under the age of 21. The police were tipped off by U.S. customs agents who stopped the shipment when it came into the country and found the forged IDs in a package that was addressed to Vanpelt.

Vanpelt was charged with 12 counts of second-degree forgery and one count of second-degree conspiracy to commit forgery. He was released on a promise to appear before Norwalk Superior Court.
Police also apprehended a 17-year-old from Wilton. He was charged with 6 counts of second-degree forgery and one count of second-degree conspiracy to commit forgery. He is scheduled to appear in juvenile court in Stamford.

This was not Vanpelt's first run-in with the Wilton PD. On Oct. 4, police arrested him on charges of first degree criminal trespass and second degree stalking. The charges stemmed from a complaint by a juvenile female that Vanpelt was following and harassing her in June 2019, according to police
Possession of a forged drivers license is a felony in Connecticut and can lead to jail time and the suspension of driving privileges in the state.
