Wilton Police Arrest Log For Aug. 14-20

WILTON, CT — Larceny, DUI and an illegal dumping were at the top of the Wilton Police Department's arrest log last week.

At around 1:15 p.m. on Friday, the Wilton Police Department received a report from a town employee that someone was illegally dumping items into a private town dumpster.

Based on the complainant's identification of the man through previous contacts, and a photo taken of the suspect vehicle, police were able to identify the man as a 72-year-old Chestnut Hill Road resident.

Police visited the man at his residence the next day and charged him with illegal dumping. He was released on a promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 29.

Police stopped a Norwalk woman for traffic related offenses in the area of Belden Hill Road and Old Huckleberry Road on Aug. 16 at 10:30 p.m.

During their investigation, police say they learned the 27-year-old was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Police charged the driver with traveling unreasonably fast and illegal possession of prescription drugs. She was released on 10 percent of a $1,000 bond and scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 30.

On Aug. 17, Wilton police arrested a 40-year-old Bridgeport woman on a warrant for her alleged involvement in two shoplifting episodes at the BevMax liquor store at 14 Danbury Road, on Feb. 25 and March 23.

In total, $647 dollars worth of liquor was taken between her and an accomplice, who was arrested on Aug. 3. The woman was charged with two counts of sixth-degree larceny and two counts of conspiracy to commit larceny, and was arraigned at Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 17.
