Multi-Day Significant Snowstorm Possible for Windsor Locks, East Windsor

The National Weather Service also urges residents to be cautious of black ice and subzero wind chills tonight and tomorrow.

The National Weather Service is predicting it’s possible that we could receive significant snowfall over a three-day period.

The weather service has also issued a Wind Chill Advisory that is in effect until 10 a.m. Friday.

It’s possible that it could snow to some extent on beginning late Saturday and into Monday night (with a chance of snow on Tuesday), according to the weather’s service Hazardous Weather Outlook statement.

But there are so many variables and uncertainties about this forecast.

“Really, really challenging forecast for Sunday and Monday. Several chances for snow but I wouldn’t be surprised if the bulk of it held off until Monday. At this point all we can really say is ‘stay tuned’ - we should know much more tomorrow,” said Ryan Hanrahan, who is an NBC Connecticut meteorologist. Hanrahan wrote his comments on social media.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a 60 percent chance of snow from Sunday through Monday night. The weather service said several episodes of accumulating snow are likely with the risk of significant snowfall the greatest on Sunday and Monday.
