193 New Positive Coronavirus Cases In DC; 8 New Deaths
D.C. Health reports there are 193 new positive cases of the coronavirus in the District as of Thursday morning.
WASHINGTON, DC — The D.C. Health Department confirmed eight new deaths Thursday due to COVID-19, the illness associated with the new coronavirus, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths in the District to 285.
D.C. Health also confirmed 193 new positive COVID-19 cases, bringing the overall total to 5,654.

- 71-year-old female
- 71-year-old male
- 72-year-old male
- 76-year-old female
- 78-year-old female
- 83-year-old male
- 87-year-old male
- 94-year-old male
D.C. Health has confirmed 25,856 District residents have been tested for the coronavirus and 808 have recovered. Contact tracing investigations are focused positive cases tied to health care workers and first responders, senior care facilities, correctional and detention centers, childcare facilities and facilities serving homeless individuals.

Globally, more than 3.7 million people have been infected by COVID-19, and over 264,000 people have died, Johns Hopkins University reported Monday morning. In the U.S., more than 1.2 million people have been infected and over 73,000 people have died from COVID-19.
