Fatal Shooting In Brightwood Park Investigated: Police Report

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan Police Department homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Monday night in the Brightwood Park neighborhood, according to a police release.

Officers were dispatched around 11:20 p.m., to the 700 block of Longfellow Street, N.W., for the report of the sound of gunshots. Arriving on the scene, they discovered an unconscious adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment, but all lifesaving efforts failed and the victim was pronounced dead.

MPD identified the decedent as Clarence Skrine, 25, of Northwest.
