Man Accused of Phoning in Bomb Threats to Union Station, Metro is Arrested by FBI: Report
James Cherry is reportedly a two truck driver in Georgetown who is accused of making the threats for his own entertainment.
WASHINGTON, DC — A man accused of making bomb threats against Union Station, the Metrorail system and an area near the White House has been arrested by the FBI, according to a report.
NBC Washington reports that James Cherry allegedly made a series of threats, one of which shut down Union Station back in July, seemingly for his own amusement.
Police arrested Cherry in Southeast on Friday, according to the report, which cites court filings.

The July 27 evacuation of Union Station caused huge delays to Amtrack, MARC and VRE trains. Cherry is accused of being the one who called 911 to claim that bombs had been planted in Union Station on that date.
Cherry is a tow truck driver who works in the Georgetown area, according to the filings. They tracked him down by linking him to a cell phone associated with the threats.

He has a detention hearing set for Thursday.
