• A fatal crash, a burned SUV and drugs: Bradenton man charged in series of crimes (bradenton.com) — A Bradenton man is jailed without bond after being charged in a fatal April hit‑and‑run in Palmetto and a later July chase and crash in Bradenton that led to drug‑trafficking and other charges. Investigators link him to a burned SUV found near Myakka, and a judge will review his mental competency in an October court hearing.

• Demeter Energy is Advancing Plans to Develop a First-of-Its-Kind Biomethanol Production and Carbone Capture Facility in Bradenton Florida (tankterminals.com) — A planned biomethanol and carbon-capture facility at SeaPort Manatee near Bradenton could position Manatee County as a key hub for low‑carbon fuels. Demeter Energy says the project would tap biomass from across Florida and the Southeast, potentially boosting local transportation, waste, forestry, and industrial jobs while supporting global decarbonization goals.
