Tampa Man Wins $1 Million Lottery Scratch-Off Prize
A 60-year-old Tampa man is one of the latest winners announced by the Florida Lottery. William Farrell claimed a $1 million prize from the lottery’s $10,000,000 Fortune scratch-off game on April 1, according to the lottery.
87 Animals Taken From New Port Richey Home
Pasco County has seized 87 animals from a home on Teak Street in the Griffin Park area. According to county spokesman Doug Tobin, the animals were removed from the home at 9115 Teak St. Tuesday.
The Colonnade Closes To Make Room For Development
A longstanding Tampa landmark is no more. The Colonnade Restaurant on Bayshore Boulevard served its last meals Tuesday.
Florida Vacation Scams: State Reports Uptick
Tampa Bay area residents who receive offers related to promotional vacation packages in the Sunshine State are warned to be very wary. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services issued a consumer alert Wednesday related to scam offers that are meant to part victims from their personal information.
A 39-year-old man is dead after a Wednesday morning disturbance at Centerstone, a behavioral health hospital, in Bradenton. According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the 2020 26th Ave. E. hospital around 12:25 a.m.
Stormy Weather Possible As Week Continues
Tampa Bay area residents may want to keep their umbrellas handy over the next few days. The National Weather Service says storms are possible, but will be followed by sunny, cooler conditions heading into the weekend.

A missing Sarasota man's body has been found in a canal within the Deer Prairie Creek Preserve in Venice. According to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office, the body has been identified as Tommy Trousdale, 66, of Sarasota.
